Critic writes: "a superb recitalist and collaborator"

Elliott Mandel, critic for Chicago Classical reviews WarnerNuzova's performance at Nichols Hall for Chicago Music Institute, where the duo is chamber artist n residence. New to the repertoire: Prokofiev’s Sonata for Cello and Piano in C Major. Mandel writes that it "was proof that the duo has a clear love of Russian repertoire.  Warner’s tone always seems to bear the markings of her teacher, the late Mstislav Rostropovich, and her command of Prokofiev made her educational lineage obvious from the opening, foreboding measures.  Sometimes airy or ominous, Warner’s powerful, long strokes and wide vibrato gave a rich description to the expansive first movement.  The middle Moderato is jovial and laughing in a burlesque sort of way; Warner and Nuzova brought out the mild vulgarity.  The raucous finale was met by equally enthusiastic applause."
